Sherwood Hill

Sherwood Hill
(From Dowlings Rd)

previously walked on 30/7/18

Setting off up the continuation of Dowlings Road.

The entrance to the reserve, there were notices warning of burning off, but we carried on.

A welcome break...for Minties

We have found the turn off to return

This is the turn we always miss at first go

Plenty of wildflowers

Looks like the burn off was over and done with.

The sun came out as we approached the end of the loop.

A colourful caterpillar

Returning down Dowlings Road.

To lunch at Willie Smiths. We had 18 Ramblers.

Bellerive Bluff and Beach

  Bellerive Bluff and Beach
(previously walked on 8/11/17, 5/10/16, 8/4/15)

It was a glorious day, sunny but not too warm for our walk around Bellerive Bluff and onto the beach.

Mount Wellington overlooking us.

Meeting beside the marina

Having walked along the Esplanade we went up alongside the Bluff.

We passed the fort on the bluff. We spent time there the last time we did this walk. If you would like to visit and have a guided tour it is part of Open House Weekend on 10th November

To the lookout over Howrah beach

Where we turned and made our return

Some architecture along Queen's Street.

Back to the wharf for lunch at Anchors, at the Bellerive Yacht Club.
