Sandfly

 Sandfly

Todays walk was in two parts. We started on Riverdale Road.

We all went to see the start of the longer walk which goes along the North West Bay River, it involves crossing the river a total of four times.

Then the less agile of us moved on to Sandfly Memorial Oval for the shorter and less adventurous alternative.

We did all meet up on the section of the walks where they are on the same path.

Walking down from Riverdale Road.

We have a look at the Information panel showing the routes of the two walks

One group has opted for the longer walk, but must cross this river a few times. Not all of us are keen.

See you later.

The group doing the shorter walk head back to avoid the river crossings

At Sandfly Memorial Oval we find the start of the shorter walk.

It is a shorter walk but much rougher under foot

We have reached the river and turn left to continue our walk.

Horses have been this way

At the road we turned and walked back

We met the others coming towards us

Happy Birthday! Thanks for the cake 🎂

The second river crossing

We are heading back to the oval

There were 13Ramblers. Lunch was at Longley International Hotel
