Rosny Ramble

 Rosny Ramble

Today we travelled the high points and byways of Rosny, starting from Rosny Barn and taking the path behind Eastlands shopping centre.

Onto the golf course (watch out for errant balls!!)

And grumpy chooks, what a commotion!

Across Gordons Hill Rd and along the highway to Warrane.

Up Flagstaff Gully

We crossed Flagstaff Gully Road and went onto a hill with no name

On the other side we emerged onto Kent St and found beehives and...

...an elaborate mud brick structure in a backyard garden.

Lovely views as we walked down Kent St onto Gordons Hill Road.

We made our way to Marrill St and Gordons Hill Nature Recreation Area.

A view over Bellerive to Mount Nelson

Around Gordon's Hill

Tasman Bridge from Rosny Hill overpass

kunanyi Mount Wellington from the overpass.

From here we made our way through the golf course back to our cars.
There were 9 Ramblers, lunch was at Moto Vecchia

Pilchers Hill

                                                           Pilchers Hill

We set off and walked up Geilston Creek Road

Sometimes on the road

and partly on these tracks

Entering the reserve (a test of logistics and flexibility)

Heading uphill through the bush

Views of kunanyi Mount Wellington

Lolly break, thanks Jo.

Onwards and upwards

 To the top

Who are we waiting for?

These two...had been distracted by dragonflies

The quarry

Some rogue pampas grass

To the valley bottom and gentle stroll through shade beside Fagg's Creek

Back down the road to our cars

There were 8 Ramblers and lunch was at Currency Cafe in Lindisfarne
