We followed the shore of the Derwent River enjoying views of Mount Wellington (kunanyi), some of Hobart's historical, recreational and industrial areas and lots of rainbow views.
The rainbow looks good but what about that black bit on the other side? We rug up with beanies and raincoats so of course the weather stays dry and sunny (though cold in places)
There is a new section of track ahead (to suit cyclists, not walkers)
We take the old section which follows the water line more closely.
Under the Tasman Bridge
A Book Box, some interesting titles available to swap.
Mountain looking magnificent behind us
Natone Hill ahead.
Simmons Park with the mountain behind, to inspire exercise routines?
Some of the birds we saw (if briefly and not inclined to pose for long)
Grebes heading off
Eurasian Coot
Magpie
Industrial areas, fuel store and zinc works (also cemetery)
Cornelian Bay cliffs
Lindisfarne Bay
We reach our destination Anzac Park and memorial to war veterans.
The return
The rainbow is still there :)
Mountain, sometimes moody, sometimes cheerful.
Floral (weeds?)
Not a weed but an introduced eucalypt for decoration.
Rainbow still there
Back to the beginning
Memorial to those lost when the Tasman Bridge collapsed in 1975
And finally the view from our lunch table.
