Bellerive and Howrah Beaches

Bellerive and Howrah Beaches

We met on the eastern end of Howrah Beach with a view of the mountain.
We set off westwards along the beach

Looking across to Alexandra Battery

Approaching the end of Howrah Beach. The sandstone has been weathered into caves and patterns

Looking across to Wrest Point

Up the steps onto Second Bluff

Looking down into an unnamed cove

And onto a lookout over the bay

The steps down to Bellerive Beach

There is a submarine cable here, taking storm water into the bay, it has a long and amusing (though annoying at the time) history

Lolly break.

As we were wondering where a number of us had got to, we were joined by this dog

Ah! Here they are, ahead of us.

A gloomy shower of rain seemed to be threatening so we turned inland and returned via the pathway.

Quite a few bandicoots about today

Back over Second Buff

Bulk carriers in the river

Droughty Point

Into Wentworth Park

We had 19 Ramblers. Lunch was in the Sports Bar of the Shoreline Hotel
