Allens Rivulet

 Allens Rivulet

Today's walk was led by Donna and Tom. We met and set off from the top of Crofton Drive and took the Cliff Track and Allen's Rivulet Track in an anti clockwise direction starting on Moody's Road.

Turning onto the Cliff Track

Cliffs to our left and the rivulet to our right

Yay!

Oil of Gilead plant running rampant (very fragrant)

To protect horses from injuring themselves on the sharp tops of star droppers some enterprising person covered them with found objects

After examining this old water pump for some time we discovered that we had been left behind

We crossed Platypus Creek and took the path through the horse riding centre (saying hello to Percy who was dozing after his breakfast)

We met up with the others on Allen's Rivulet Road before turning off onto Moody's Road.

Where we re entered the Allen's Rivulet Track

 Some orchids

Some people (and a tree)

The track continued along the rivulet...

...until  it emerged onto a grassy pathway with views of South Wellington.

We met some locals who were quite interested in us

Making our way  up Crofton Drive.

There were 16 Ramblers and lunch was at the Longley Hotel with some presentations being made.

We were a bit early so here are some photos of the surroundings

Thank you Robin for these presentations, a fitting end (though not quite) to a strange year.

I love my quilt, it is quite exquisite, the colours and the details will give me hours of enjoyment, and happy memories of walks with lovely Ramblers.
