New Town Falls

 New Town Falls

We met at the end of Lenah Valley Road, several of us taking advantage of the generous parking space reserved for buses!

One group setting off up the Lenah Valley Fire Trail to the falls.

Some interesting remnants of a building and three walnut trees

At this point we turn off to start the climb

Looking down on New Town Rivulet

The track is steep and rocky

A brief rest at the remains of a hut

Then left onto Old Hobartians Track

We reach the falls

Wayne puts the height in perspective

We were looking for shell fossils but only found these intriguing water effects

There is a short offshoot to another viewing spot

Shell fossils at last!

We met this industrious echidna on our return walk.

Downhill to Rangeview Park

From the group who walked downstream beside the Rivulet, finding flowers, sculptures and strange plants.

Cherries!

A new stone circle maze

The rivulet crossing in Rangeview Park

There were 16 Ramblers and lunch was at Smolt.
