Mount Mangana

 Mount Mangana

A select group made our way to the southern part of Bruny Island and shook our bones up along Coolangatta Road to find the start of the Mount Mangana Walk.

This was about as rough as it got.

Who made this hole? About 2cm across

Possums or Cockies?

This docile snake was still there on the way back. Digesting a meal? It didn't move!

Sassafras

Plenty of moss.

Native laurel

Myrtle beech

First view of our destination

These two got there first and had started on lunch

Views to Cloudy Bay and the lighthouse

The vegetation here was so varied and interesting

An unusual lichen

Even the path was colourful

Yellow gum

Horizontal Scrub

Who has been digging, wallaby or echidna?

Dogs vomit fungus

A mini Mangana or Matterhorn?

We stopped at the lookout on the drive back, The Neck is framed by trees and Cape Queen Elizabeth is in the distance. Mars Bluff and the Arch is between the beaches.

There were 6 Ramblers
