Gordon's Hill

 Gordon's Hill

On a lovely sunny morning we met at Montagu Bay with views of kunanyi Mount Wellington. Nearby is the memorial to those who died when the bridge was knocked down in 1975.

The rings symbolise the rebuilding of the bridge.

We start off up Montagu Bay Road

Across the bridge we go up the grassy slope beside Rose Bay High School.

And into the bush which covers Gordon's Hill.

This is the first steep bit but not too far to go

Lolly break

Mount Rumney in the background

Looking across Simmons Park to Mount Direction

Mount Direction, Madman's Hill and Gunner's Quoin

Mount Faulkner, with Self's Point fuel store in the foreground

Natone Hill above Lindisfarne with Anzac Park on the left

We continue around the hill with some steep ups and downs but

Looking across to Rosny Hill as we cross the bridge to return

Some art shots

A good spot for canoeing after a rainstorm? Shortcut to Montagu Bay!

And back down Montagu Bay Road.

There were13 Ramblers and lunch was at Currency Cafe in Lindisfarne
