Single Hill

 Single Hill

Not a very promising start to the walk. This is Single Hill, almost lost in the mist. It was a cold and drizzly day.

We were meeting on Nowra Road.

One car load of Ramblers were a bit uncertain where to go so we waited.

Waiting Ramblers had various strategies for coping with the conditions

We set off, having forgotten to count up for lunch, an omission we came to regret!

Tangara Trail is a maze of pathways around Roches Beach and Lauderdale.

After about 30 minutes we decided to stop for a lolly break. That is when we realized the lollies were still in Donna's car (along with Jo). So we retraced our steps and regrouped. Two Ramblers left for the pub! The rest of us took a modified route along roads to find Single Hill.

Heading up a very steep Cahill Place, watched by locals. The rain mostly stopped and it was pleasant walking.

Looking back to the houses on Acton Road. Rather windy up here but no rain

Our cars are still there, where we left them! One is unlocked but don't tell anyone.

We reached the top and looked down the other side

Heading down towards cars on Nowra Road.

We made it!

Close up!

There were 8 Ramblers and lunch was at The Foreshore Tavern in Lauderdale.

Map

Red is the intended route and blue is our actual path.
