Mays Beach

Mays Beach

We met up at the end of Forest Hill Road

Setting off through the bush to the Coastal Reserve
and the sky was clear and blue (no sign of the forecast "partly cloudy")

Yay!

We emerged onto  a grassed area with gorgeous views

Looking across to May's Point

After a tricky walk down a rocky slope we came to the beach

May's Point has some nice cliffs.

At the end of the beach

Looking across Maydena Bay to May's Point

The remains of the steps to Bayside Drive, we ignored them and took some photos in the sunshine, on the rocks.

The site of a previous jetty and apple shed.

We turned and made our way back along the beach, this time noting the weird and wonderful washed up wildlife.

Oystercatchers

Single Oystercatcher

Looking back at the people who continued past the rocks and went to the end of the next beach, they are catching up again.

Calvert's Hill, seen from the point where the grassed section turns back into the bush.

And I think this might be May's Hill

This is where we turn away from the coast and there is a considerable amout of fence being built around a property. We were disappointed because there was a huge eagle sculpture. But I have managed to track down these previous views of the property's pre fence days, showing the little railway too.

I liked the way the light was shining on the tree trunks

The terrain graph showing the dramatic hill climb we undertook.
53metres!
