Chauncy Vale

Chauncy Vale
Guvy's Lagoon

A lovely warm sunny day for us today. We followed Browns Cave Creek as far as Guvy's Lagoon and then returned.

At the start there is an information area with details about the history and environment of Chauncy Vale.

The start of the walking track

Crossing a dry creek bed.

This is Eve's Pool, not looking too appealing today

Looking across to some of the caves

Quite a few large trees have fallen across the track.

Avoiding the steep and treacherous Cave Loop this time

We still had quite a climb (see elevation graph) but it was steady and gentle

The inside of this tree had some handprints

We come to the turn off to the lagoon...which is dry!

The sign says Look out! Point!

It is just a small lagoon

Two went on to the Lookout point where they found an interesting seat...and looked down on the rest of us!

The rest of us started a leisurely return looking for plants and signs of wildlife.

Goodenia lanata?

Brachyscome aculeata

Daviesia ulcifolia (bitter pea or native gorse)

??

Wahlenbergia

Gum leaves showing signs of wear and invasion

Correa

Native Pear

Devil Poo?

Wallaby number one..

and two (literally...she has a joey)

We had 13 Ramblers and enjoyed lunch at the Pontville Pub.
