 Queens Domain

We began today's walk from near the crossroads and it takes us to the summit,  through Grassland Gully and along Soldiers Walk.

Starting off along Max's Infinity Loop

before taking the zig zag route to the top of the Domain via the bike track

Mount Wellington (kunanyi) in one direction

Mount Direction, Gunners Quoin and Grasstree Hill in the other

 

Looking down on the River Derwent

Around the summit of the Domain

And down the other side

Onto the Infinity Loop again before turning off onto a bush track beside the road

Information about Grassland Gully, where we descend to the golf practice area (disused)

A Green Rosella on the boardwalk captured everyone's attention

This was a bunker when this was a golf training area.

We reach Soldiers Walk, and stop for a rest

 

Going past the gunpowder magazine, getting a view of the bridge 

An example of the new signage everywhere as we turn off the gravel path and wander through the shade.

Until we near our starting point

There were 16 Ramblers and lunch was at the Globe Hotel.
