Margate Tramway and Rivulet

 Margate Tramway and Rivulet

Today's walk starts from the Mens Shed on Van Morey Road. We negotiated the devastation and building behind the shed to gain access to the remains of the Tramway.

Once on the Tramway we had lovely views and it became very warm.

This pony was pleased to see us but his mate was a bit embarrassed by his fly veil.

Heading downhill past various birds...

...to Englefield Drive for a climb back up. This time watched by a secretive buddha

Wayne is feeling justifiably smug. I had forgotten the kink that you need to take on this corner, I'd have taken everyone along the wrong road! Thanks Wayne

The correct road towards Brook Lane, past some garden landscaping

Down Brook Lane to the Rivulet Track

It is a day for equine leisurewear...fluffy slippers?

Crossing Margate Rivulet

Noting the stage of decay of the resident car body.

Trying to identify the route of an old track from Snug Tiers

Having gone up quite steeply we go down again.

Beside the Rivulet, the white gums planted ten years ago are doing well, but the self seeded wattles are crowding the bank on this side of the rivulet

We emerge onto Channel Highway and make our way through vacant land and secret pathways to Dayspring Drive.
