Mays Beach

 Mays Beach

The weather gods did their best. Under the circumstances they couldn't be expected to provide the usual sparkling conditions but they did a good job of holding off the rain and keeping the wind down to a bit of a breeze in a couple of exposed spots.

Starting from Forest Hill Road.

We set off in a very fine drizzle, at the top of the dunes it was a bit exposed and windy until we turned down into the shelter of the newly created track. By then the rain had stopped and it stayed that way.

A bit breezy here and no views.

Going downhill on the new section of track, out of the wind.

This is where you can head to Cremorne Beach, much better than the previous vertical grass slide, we carried straight on

Behind us is the path to Cremorne wending its way across the paddock.

We continued on to the grassy section

Here the new track takes us away from the fence and we get good views of the water.

We noticed this tree adorned with shells

May's Beach. We were surprised at how sheltered and calm it was.

There were lots of birds but these two were different

Crested Tern

Hooded Plover

The tide was low enough for us to be able to see around to the next little bay

Breezy but warm...and fun

Yes, just one house

Now for some art shots

And the walk back.

We added our contributions to the shell tree.

The old route is blocked off.

Thank goodness we don't have to go up that horrible gravelly slope any more

There were 3 Ramblers and lunch was at She's Cooked.
