Snug River
Thank you Tas for working out this route.
There was lots of variety and a bit of climbing.
Looking out to sea
The view upriver
Excitement begins?
They were looking at the foxgloves. A lovely plant but a noxious weed in this place.
It became rather overgrown in places
Especially as we needed to cross the creek
Stopping to discuss the track and decide we had explored enough and would turn around
Heron admiring its reflection
Going beside the river and back to our cars.

Starting from Snug Beach we took a path beside the campsite and then onto the beach
It was a lovely still day with reflections on the water.
The seaweed had built up or washed up and made a soggy and olfactory walking experience.

we entered a patch of woodland
We made a little detour to see this Pampas Grass and mark its location so Kingborough Council can be informed...and remove it!
We emerged onto the old highway which is now part of the Margate to Snug multiuse trial
Crossing the new highway, a variety of strategies were used. I tried to capture the more inelegant ones.
Then we made our way upstream through an area developed as an education and recreation space beside the Primary School.
These tried to do a Beatles crossing re-enactment...but it didn't work really

Art shot!

It is May, fungi abound
Wollemi Pine (not native but welcome anyway)
We thought this pair of photos was amusing, the sign advises that this is the home of a hairdressing business!
